Quayside Publishing Group Hires Kevin Hamric

Beverly, MA (November 30, 2007) – Quayside Publishing Group announces that they have hired Kevin Hamric to be Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Hamric will report to President and CEO Ken Fund. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales, marketing and publicity departments of the group’s eight imprints (Creative Publishing international, Fair Winds Press, Motorbooks, Quarry Books, Quiver Books, Rockport Publishers, Voyageur Press and Zenith Press) and the distribution of Walter Foster titles into the book trade. He will join the company December 3, 2007, and will be based out of its Minneapolis office.
Hamric has more than twenty years of experience in the book publishing industry, most recently as Director of Book Sales at Taunton Press. Prior to Taunton, he was at Sybex/John Wiley as Director of Sales and Operations.
Mike Hejny, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for MBI Publishing, has left the company. Quayside’s current Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Peter Ackroyd, will be moving into a new role within the company.
The Quayside Publishing Group is a subsidiary of the London-based Quarto Group. The Quarto Group acquired MBI Publishing in August, 2007. Quayside has offices in Massachusetts and Minnesota.
